This product is a specialized infrared spectrometer developed based on the environmental protection standard “HJ637-2018” for the determination of total oil, petroleum, and animal and vegetable oils in water using infrared spectrophotometry.
Main application technology fields:
The environmental protection department monitors the oil content in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage, and industrial wastewater
Monitoring of oil content in circulating water and wastewater in industries such as petroleum and petrochemical, chemical smelting, etc
Monitoring of oil content in circulating water and wastewater in industries such as power plants, steel mills, and machinery manufacturing
Monitoring of oil content in the source water of the water company
Monitoring of oil content in irrigation and production water for agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry
Monitoring of Oil Content in Water in Marine and Fishery Environments
Monitoring of Oil Content in Water by Water Conservancy, Hydrology, and Municipal Water Supply and Drainage Departments
Railway environmental and epidemic prevention departments monitor the oil content in water
Monitoring of oil content in water by major research institutes and third-party testing
Technical principle:
According to the HJ637-2018 national standard, oil substances in water are extracted using tetrachloroethylene or carbon tetrachloride, and then impurities and moisture are isolated using anhydrous sodium sulfate to separate the oil from the solution of tetrachloroethylene or carbon tetrachloride, and the total oil content of the extract is determined. At the same time, the extract can be adsorbed with magnesium silicate, and after removing polar substances such as animal and vegetable oils, petroleum can be determined. The total extract and petroleum content were calculated based on the absorbance A2930, A2960, and A3030 at spectral bands with wave numbers of 2930 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH2 group), 2960 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH3 group), and 3030 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in aromatic ring), respectively. The content of animal and vegetable oils is calculated based on the difference between the total extract and petroleum content.
