The MDS-B3 BOD analyzer is designed based on the differential pressure method. It simulates the biodegradation process of organic matter in nature within a sealed culture flask. Oxygen from the air above the flask continuously replenishes the dissolved oxygen consumed by the decomposition of organic matter in the sample. The CO2 produced during degradation is removed, causing a change in air pressure in the culture flask. By monitoring this change in air pressure, the sample's BOD value is calculated.
